Is it Spring? |

What a great way to start the week. Sunshine and temps in the 50s. Kind of makes me wish I had played hooky from work today. What a great weekend. The Commodores played at Lake of the Torches in Lac du Flambeau and rocked the house.

I had a chance to see them perform in the late 70s in Los Angeles and they still put on an AWESOME show.
Have a Great Week!

Friday February 19th |

As I sit here writing this during The Big Radio Show, I'm trying to figure out how so much time has gone by and how quickly. It seems like I was just sitting down to Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner with my family. I still have bits of tinsle here and there in my living room. The New Years at the Legion Hall and Christmas Parade in Minocqua. Now Cruiserfest is past us, Klondike Days are this weekend, and soon the ice shacks will be off the lakes. My advise, take some time and enjoy the moments because it goes by so fast. Don't be in a hurry for spring or summer. It will all get here soon enough. In the mean time, I'm planning to hit the trails this weekend on my snowmobile, watch some movies with my honey, and wrap things up with a nice dinner with the Interact Club and Lakeland Rotary Club on Sunday. Do something fun and have a Great Weekend!
Back with you Monday at 2pm, Dave |

It's almost Christmas |

As I write this I'm looking out the studio window at all the snow coming down. Except for the fact that I've never been a big fan of shoveling snow, all this white stuff bring the promise of snowmobiling, ice fishing, skiing and all the rest of the fun winter stuff you can do here in the Northwoods. I was beginning to become concerned when we really didn't have snow in to December. With Christmas coming snow is a must. Now with the white stuff pilling up on the ground I can feel the holiday excitement building.
The last month for me has been a good one mostly with the return of my son Charlie from Afghanistan. He's a member of the 951st Sapper Engineering Battalion out of Rhinelander. He was married shortly before he deployed last November and became a dad this past June. Now he's home and able to be a husband and father which I know gives a feeling of real happiness.
I'll try as best I can to do better at keeping up with my little ol' Blog
Take Care, Dave

Halloween |
| Posted: Oct 26 2009 5:30 PM |
One of my favorite holidays is just about here. I'm talking about Halloween. I think we may have enough candy for all the kids that are going to decend on our house this Saturday. It's always fun to see what the popular costume will be every year. Even though the traditional witches, ghosts, and goblins will show up, it's the odd ones that I look for. I'm not talking about just the store bought kind. I'm talking about the ones that are home made. It's amazing the creativity that comes out.
I'm looking forward to what my brother Don is going to do this year. Every year he turns his front yard into a different slice of creepiness. Makes me glad to live next door. I love seeing what he comes up with. I'll make sure to post some pictures right here.
Some real good news is that my son Charlie will be coming home soon from Afghanistan. The past year has been tough not seeing him. But I am so proud of his service to our country. Just as I am all of our hero service people.
Well, gotta do my radio thing. I hope you stop by for the Big Radio Show every weekday from 2 to 6pm.
Thanks for listening.

I'm a grandpa |
| Posted: Jun 30 2009 7:22 PM |
| On Friday June 26th at 12:39pm the sweetest little girl was born at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. Meet my Grandaughter Kylie Grace Imlah. Her parents are my Son Charlie and his beautiful wife Mandy. I thought becoming a grandpa meant I was getting older. No, it means that I can enjoy the wonder of holding the newest member of the family and remembering just how much love is contained in such a small package. |
